Location, location, location.
This gastropub has it in buckets.
Introducing The Bracebridge.
Located in the picturesque Sutton Park, The Bracebridge is chef Andrew Sheridan’s showcase lakeside pub.
Locations don’t get much better than this for a gastropub, and the location itself is a glorious reason to visit this exciting foodie hotspot. Set on the banks of Bracebridge Pool in the heart of Sutton Park, this beautiful pub boasts some spectacular views, making it the ideal setting for all of your gatherings and the perfect place to enjoy some delicious food and drinks, basking in the glow of summer sunshine. But regardless of the season, this is a beautiful setting for a bite to eat (just as stunning in the winter as it is in the summer).
At The Bracebridge they’re all about taking British pub classics and elevating them to a new level, bringing a touch of sophistication, elegance and quality produce to these nostalgic dishes. You’ll find a range of classic pub snacks, starters, mains (including some amazing dairy steaks) and crowd-pleasing puddings, with something for everyone to enjoy.
The main menu includes pub classics such as fish and chips, sausage and mash and a fish finger sandwich, alongside more elevated, contemporary dishes such as hand-dived scallops or Wiltshire truffle gnocchi. From the grill you can enjoy a delicious Welsh dairy steak (for one, or for two to share) along with mouth-watering dishes such as spiced monkfish tail or soy caramel middle white pork chop. Whatever dish you choose, you can be safe in the knowledge that the very best ingredients have been used and cooked with love and care by the talented chefs.
Any pub worth their salt offers a great roast, so naturally on a Sunday you can enjoy a delicious roast at The Bracebridge, featuring a choice of meats, fish or veggie option. All are served family-style to the table with all the trimmings (think Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and gravy) and all are absolutely delicious. We can’t think of a more beautiful setting to enjoy a delicious Sunday roast.
For those of you with a sweet tooth who like to end their meal with a sumptuous dessert, you won’t be disappointed. Just as with the rest of their menu, here they offer a selection of nostalgic puddings with an elevated twist. Think along the lines of sherry coconut trifle, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate tart. The menus change to reflect the seasons but you will always find classic pub dishes with a twist that will leave you satisfied and sure to come back again and again.
The drinks menu has been carefully selected to compliment the food and to ensure that every guest can find something they’ll enjoy. From a lovely selection of wines to a range of spirits, a number of beers on draught (and by the can or bottle), as well as soft drinks and hot drinks, there’s a good range of options for everyone. Pop next door to their on-site bakery and tap house, The Sip and Slice, for a take-away coffee (and a cheeky pastry) as you stroll through the glorious surroundings of Sutton Park.
The pub itself is just as comforting and cosy as the food, with the classic gastropub feel of elevated casual, to perfectly reflect the menus. The crowning glory though is the terrace, which is the ideal place to enjoy an al fresco lunch with a stunning backdrop of the water and the forests surrounding the pub. A truly unique and delightful location for a memorable meal. The interior is stunning, with plush, green velvet sofas, rattan chairs and wooden tables giving a modern, elevated feel to the décor.
