Introducing Cafe Lovelife.
Located on Floodgate Street, Digbeth, Cafe Lovelife is a cute and cosy independent cafe inspired by the Mediterranean.
At Cafe Lovelife their ethos is all about keeping it simple and authentic, and with an open archway looking into the kitchen, you can watch the fresh ingredients come to life before your eyes and transformed into the delicious dishes you’ll be served. All of the food is cooked and prepared fresh on-site, including fresh bread, pastries and cakes baked on-site each day. Their focus is on using the best, fresh ingredients to ensure the best flavours, and they source lots of their ingredients locally where possible. Lots of the items on their menu are gluten free, veggie, vegan and halal too, as they aim to be as inclusive as possible.
Cafe Lovelife are open for breakfast and brunch, lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch and all of their menus are packed full of mouth-watering dishes. With a mix of nourishing and indulgent dishes there are plenty of options to choose from. Go for one of their Acai bowls for a nutritious start to the day or go big with one of their Full Mediterranean Breakfasts (choose from chicken and chorizo sausage, lamb merguez sausage, pork and thyme sausage or grilled halloumi – all served with poached eggs, stuffed mushroom, confit tomatoes, patatas bravas and smoked paprika cannellini). A hearty dish that is sure to keep you satisfied.
For lunch they offer a range of fully-loaded focaccia sandwiches served on the softest, most delicious, freshly baked focaccia (these are tasty as hell), as well as a couple of salads and of course, those freshly baked pastries and cakes if you just fancy a quick bite (think date and tahini cinnamon rolls and dark chocolate babka – yum).
For dinner they offer a longer a la carte menu including a selection of mezze if you fancy a few small plates to accompany your cocktails, or go for one of their mains for a larger plate – including the likes of Lamb Kofte with sumac onions, labneh and pomegranate salsa, Yellowfin Tuna with peperonata and caper popcorn, or Courgette and Pea Fritter with white bean puree and green chilli salsa. With a selection of flavourful sides, you’ll be spoilt for choice for accompaniments to your chosen main, including Patatas Bravas with Garlic Aioli, Roasted Beetroot with Whipped Feta, and Polenta Fries with Manchego and Truffle Oil, among others.
On Sundays, they serve incredible Sunday Roasts and they’re the perfect indulgent treat for the weekend, with a Lovelife Mediterranean twist of course! Choose from the likes of Garlic and Fennel Porchetta, Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder, Ribeye Steak or Whole Roasted Cauliflower – all served with Za’atar roasted potatoes, olive oil mash, roasted beetroot, garlic and lemon broccoli and honey and cumin carrots. This is the perfect way to enjoy a Sunday roast with a twist and sounds absolutely delicious. And don’t forget one of their dreamy desserts too.
To compliment their delicious dishes, they offer a range of drinks from artisan coffees and herbal teas to fresh juices and smoothies. They’ve also scoured the UK and Europe to find flavour driven beers and organic wines from small producers and vineyards. Their cocktails include house favourites and Lovelife twists on classics, so there’s something for all tastes.
The space itself is beautiful with pale pink and mint green tones throughout, beautiful pendant lights hanging from the ceiling, and walls adorned with houseplants and bottles of wine. With a mixture of cafe style tables and booth seating, this space is as comfy as it is pretty, with plush armchairs to relax in as you sip on your coffee or tuck into your Sunday roast. The warehouse space has been transformed with architectural touches such as archways, whilst retaining some of the urban and industrial feel with exposed pipes, high ceilings (giving a light, bright and airy feel) and whitewashed, exposed brick walls. This really is a beautiful space to visit.
Whether you stop by for coffee and a pastry, enjoy a delicious Mediterranean dinner and cocktails, or head over for a leisurely Sunday roast, a visit to Cafe Lovelife is an absolute must.
