Located in The Mailbox, At The Woods is the immersive restaurant serving tasty plates in a woodland-themed setting.

The team behind At The Woods have combined their love of the natural world with their drive to provide an eco-friendly and highly delicious restaurant experience designed to spark customers’ interest in all things nature. Themed around a woodland setting, this restaurant is like dining amongst the trees, but without all the bugs and temperamental weather.

At The Woods is your one-stop shop for all of your dining needs (and when we say ALL we mean it) as they currently offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, small plates, desserts, coffee, Afternoon Tea, Afternoon Brunch (a sort of hot afternoon tea), large party buffets and set meals and they even have a private booking area for events. So whatever the occasion, they’ve most definitely got you covered.

The main menu at At The Woods has been designed to feed the adventurous as well as the conservative, so whether you like to play it safe or you like to push the boat out, there’s something for you to enjoy. There are plenty of crowd-pleasing options such as burgers, chicken breast and classic breakfasts. However, if you want to try something different they also offer unique dishes of wild meats, as well as a range of yummy small plates and starters that is full of comfort foods and tasty bites. The menu is extensive and varied so there’s always something new to try depending on your mood.

For the adventurous ones, they have created a unique menu designed to change the perception of many of the game meats you may associate with fine dining (venison, pheasant and more). As well as classics like duck breast and venison steaks they have also re-interpreted how these meats can be used with the likes of pulled venison burgers, pheasant salad, cola-glazed quail and BBQ pulled venison mac ‘n’ cheese.

Veggies and vegans also have plenty of meals to choose from in the section called “from the fields” as well as many dishes dotted all over the menu that use plenty of wild ingredients which are also a little unusual such as stinging nettles.

To indulge your sweet tooth they offer a delicious range of decadent desserts as well as thick, creamy milkshakes. Enjoy crowd pleasers such as panna cotta, chocolate brownie and ice cream, and forest berries crumble with custard, Alternatively, you could try something a little more adventurous such as their Butterscotch Eton Mess – a sweet twist on a classic.

On the drinks menu, you’ll find a range of hot and cold drinks including speciality coffees (both hot and iced), hot teas and iced teas, and a selection of delicious hot chocolates. You’ll also find a wide selection of soft drinks both bottled and on draught, as well as a range of spirits, beers and ciders (including low/no alcohol options). For the wine lovers you can choose from a selection of whites, reds and roses, as well as sparkling options too. For the cocktail fans, they have a good list of cocktails including classics and mocktails, alongside their own signature serves.

The upper mezzanine level is dubbed ‘The Treehouse’ and can be booked for private parties up to 30 people. They offer a cold buffet menu for your guests to dip into and you’ll get your own private space to enjoy. The ideal way to celebrate a special occasion.

The interior of the restaurant is decked out to give the feel of dining inside a forest, with lots of foliage, hanging vines and florals and faux trees. This is definitely a fun and whimsical way to dine. And for those looking for an extra special treat, why not book their ‘Birdcage Brunch’ – a showstopping selection of sweet and savoury treats served in a birdcage alongside tea, coffee, Prosecco or cocktails.
